REVIVING A 10-YEAR-OLD RECORD FOR A NEW GENERATION

How we did it

SPOTTING THE MOMENTUM     THEN SCALING IT

Alan Fitzpatrick We Do What We Want

FROM ORGANIC RESURGENCE TO A SOCIAL STRATEGY

Alan Fitzpatrick’s “We Do What We Want” began showing signs of an unexpected resurgence nearly a decade after its original release.

Rather than treating it like a traditional catalogue campaign, we looked at how a new generation was discovering and using the record on social - and built our strategy around the behaviours already beginning to emerge.

We developed a multi-phase creator campaign designed to accelerate that momentum, evolving the creative direction as new formats, communities and audiences began responding to the track.

As momentum grew, so did the opportunity. The campaign expanded into new content spaces and larger audiences, helping the record travel far beyond its original electronic music community. Our later phases deliberately prioritised higher-reach creators and wider audience ecosystems to continue scaling the sound.

The result

During the campaign period, TikTok creations grew to 110K+, generating more than 524M views, while the track accumulated 24M+ streams across Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.

The streaming trajectory closely followed the growth happening on TikTok, demonstrating how renewed social discovery can translate into meaningful consumption for catalogue music.

Almost ten years after release, “We Do What We Want” was reaching an entirely new generation of listeners - showing that the right record, paired with the right social momentum, doesn’t have an expiry date.
