WHY THE MUSIC VIDEO CAN’T
CARRY THE CAMPAIGN ANYMORE

WHY ARE ARTIST CAMPAIGNS STILL LAUNCHING LIKE IT’S 2016?

For developing artists especially, we still see so much budget and energy poured into one polished music video that's expected to carry an entire release.

Social platforms don't reward polished. They reward attention.

As an artist, there has never been more power to build a world around your music. Not just through the music itself, but through personality, storytelling, humour, behind-the-scenes moments, opinions, aesthetics, culture and creativity.

The audience isn't just buying into a track anymore. They're buying into you.
The artists seeing the biggest growth today aren't waiting until release day to unveil a finished product. They're creating dozens of pieces of short-form content that are designed with social media first.

Not cut-downs from a music video. Content that was always meant to live on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

The music becomes part of the content, rather than the content becoming an advert for the music.

We've been building campaigns around this approach, and the results speak for themselves. Some of the strongest-performing releases we've worked across haven't relied on expensive hero assets at all. They've relied on creative ideas that people genuinely wanted to watch, share and recreate.

The music video still has a place. But it shouldn't be the centre of the strategy anymore.

The centre should be creating content that earns attention where audiences actually spend their time.

Social isn't just a distribution channel. It's the stage.
